We want to thank our RUMC church family for your continued love and support! Thanks to our generous friends and church family, the Fundraiser for the Lisa C. Kosmider Memorial Scholarship raised in excess of $5,000 this year.  We appreciate everything our church family has done to help us through the grief process and to honor Lisa’s memory.  Matt, Bonnie and David Kosmider

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE

Are you looking for a way to serve your church?  The Worship Committee is currently searching for volunteers to be Communion Stewards and help prepare the elements for Communion, place them on the altar for the 10:45 service, and clean up after that service.  Commitment is 2 – 3 Sundays per year.  For more info call Joanna Grimes at 270-898-3826. Training will be provided.

Women’s Bible Study

MARK YOUR CALENDAR – Beginning February 12, Kay Story will be leading the new Beth Moore study,
THE QUEST. 
“In this six-week excursion with Jesus, Beth Moore uses questions from Scripture to lead you into intimacy with the One who knows you best. Learn to dig into the Word, to respond to the questions of God, and to bring your questions before Him.” The study will be on Monday mornings, from 10 a.m. to noon.

SOUPER BOWL @ REIDLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL

WHEN:  Tuesday, February 13, 2018 @ 5 p.m.
Reidland Middle School is hosting a Meal and Talent Show for the students and families. 

They are asking RUMC Sunday School classes & groups to bring their favorite soup or chili that will feed around 25. RMS will provide the rest.

Paducah Cooperative Ministries (PCM) Food Item of the Month is CEREAL!!!
Attention All RUMC Youth – A NEW DATE!!!  The Lock In at the Lake has been moved to Saturday, February 3, at 6 p.m. Don’t miss the UMYF Lock In at the Lake!

SUPPORT OUR YOUTH!  The Youth are selling gift cards to Texas Roadhouse. You can buy one with any amount on it. Contact any of our RUMC Youth for your gift card!

The ANNUAL VALENTINE’S SPAGHETTI DINNER will be February 11th at 5:00 p.m. Come and celebrate “LOVE” with us! Back by popular demand, Chris Thornton will provide live music for our listening pleasure. Share the Love – and invite your friends and family!

THE RUMC BLOOD DRIVE WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!!!

Here are the results: We surpassed our Goal of 22 units as we collected 24 units! Those who donated helped to save up to 72 lives! Thanks to all who helped clear the fellowship hall for the drive and those who assisted with the canteen.  The next drive is April 23, 2018. Mark your calendars!

ABBA CONFERENCE is coming to the Purchase District January 20, 2018! Abba Conference is a men’s ministry event open to lay and clergy. It focuses on helping men create and develop their Spiritual GPS and is formatted after the Wesleyan models of Class Meeting and Bands. This event is hosted by Mayfield First UMC. More info to come.

OWLS MINISTRY JANUARY LUNCHEON TRIP !!!

When: January 17, 2017 – 11:00 a.m. – Meet in the RUMC Parking Lot

Where: Mary’s Restaurant OR Pork Peddler Restaurant

Comment:  Dress Warm! (If McCracken County schools are closed due to weather, we will cancel our Luncheon.)

PROJECT CHRISTMAS HOUSE!!! This year’s Christmas house will be built for a single mom with 4 children whose home was destroyed by a tornado. More info is posted on the WELCOME bulletin board. Please prayerfully consider participating in this outreach!
