United Methodist Men Ramp Ministry

The men of our church build, on average, 50 handicap accessibility ramps a year.  Through grants, fundraising and donations they are able to build these much needed ramps at no cost to the recipient.

For more information on how to obtain a ramp for you or a loved one, to to volunteer to build, contact our church office.

Testimony by Kieth Williams one of our Ramp builders:

“We are a Handicap wheelchair ramp building ministry.  Most all ramps are donated to the recipient.  There is only time and good fellowship needed from you.  No money required.  God handles the money.

WE meet and usually build the ramp in one morning.  We mainly build in Paducah and surrounding counties.  Usually no more than 20 minutes or less from Paducah.

We currently build during the week.  We turn down so many ramps because we simply don’t have the man power to fulfill God’s children’s needs

If you love helping people and have a void in your heart, we have a way to help you with that.  We are currently would like to start a new crew that builds ON SATURDAYS, if we had enough interest.

….

NO BUILDING SKILLS REQUIRED.  Just a BIG HEART and the WILL OF GOD to help OTHERS in need.”

Handy Helpers Ministry

A Part of the Older Adult Ministry of the Reidland United Methodist Church

The Mission of the Handy Helpers Ministry Team is enable older adult members of Reidland United Methodist Church to maintain their homes so they may remain secure and independent.

Why Handy Helpers?

As our church is getting “grayer,” some of our members are having a hard time physically keeping up with home chores and repairs because they are ill or incapacitated.

What is Handy Helpers?

Handy Helpers is a minor home repair and maintenance service.  This service, provided by volunteers from the church, will lend a “helping hand” to older adults in our church who need assistance with transportation, small repair and maintenance jobs around the house.

What does this service cost?

The Handy Helpers service charges only for parts and materials used in the repair.  There is no charge for labor.

To qualify for the Handy Helpers service:

You must be a constituent of the Reidland United Methodist Church, have home owner’s liability insurance, and be over 65 years of age or disabled.
